We're Celebrating Black Friday and Cyber Monday Early!
We're back with a new podcast ep AND early access to our Black Friday/Cyber Monday discounts. Here at Boredwalk we celebrate Black Friday and Cyber Monday early so, now through Monday November 19th you can get:
15% off any order with discount code BLACK15
20% off any order of $75 or more with code BLACK20 (FREE gift with the same code if you spend $100 or more!)
These are the biggest discounts we will be offering in 2018, so if you've had your eye on some items, now's the time to get 'em. If you just came here to be entertained, we do have a new podcast episode, too.
We banter about trashy TV shows we recommend, Thanksgiving plans, and the relationship between depression and caring about the state of the world. Apologies for the occasional ambient meows and sneezes; both came from our cat Oliver who insisted on making an uninvited cameo during recording. Check out the episode below:
Here's the handsome little devil making all the racket in our podcast episode. See how smug and unimpressed he looks?
Anyway, thanks for stopping by! Be sure to take advantage of our last big sale of the year (mentioned above) and check out all the new stuff we added to the website! We just moved the last of the inventory from the Ex-Boyfriend website (our first brand) over to the Boredwalk website so there's lots of new stuff to peruse including some new totes and art prints!
Peace, Love, and Seasons Greetings,
Meredith
Be the strange you wish to see in the world!
We've added a bunch of new designs this week, including the one you see above. We also have a brand new podcast episode up! This week we go to speak with Rob Lawless of @robs10kfriends, an Instagram account documenting his quest to meet 10,000 people. We discuss the importance of human connections, what got him started on this journey, and what he's learned from it thus far. Enjoy!
Check back next week for more fresh designs, a new podcast episode, and other fun stuff — including information about upcoming Black Friday deals you do NOT want to miss out on!
Until then, peace, love, and tacos,
Boredwalk
Voting isn't just for lovers — it's for everybody!
Happy November! As much as we enjoyed scratching our horror itch for the last month, we're excited to pivot and scratch another one next Tuesday when we all head to our respective polling places to vote in the 2018 midterms!
If you're working on November 6th like we are and are worried you may not have time to make it to your usual polling place, fear not! Just head over to Vote.org's early voting calendar and enter your address in the search bar there. The handy robot will tell you when & where you can go to vote early between now and Election Day.
And if you're not a very political person but still like to exercise the franchise and would like to make a more informed decision, just head on over to BallotPedia.org's sample ballot lookup tool to find out what issues and candidates are being voted on in your area! BallotPedia is a nonpartisan organization that exists to make being an informed voter as easy as possible by providing plain-language descriptions of the various measures, initiatives, questions, and candidates on your ballot.
In more Boredwalk-specific news, we've welcomed a new team member into the fold — hi, Scarlett! Our production supervisor Sarah has been hard at work the last two weeks getting Scarlett up to speed on all things printing ahead of the holiday rush.
As we mentioned in last week's podcast episode, we're currently in the process of migrating a bunch of designs from our first brand, Ex-Boyfriend, over to Boredwalk! These may be old to us, but they're likely new to you! This is still an ongoing process, but we've already added a handful of designs with even more on the way. You can check out all these new designs here, with a small sampling below:
And speaking of the podcast, we've got a new episode just dying to worm its way into your earholes! Meredith and I discuss our own voting prep process (which, like the recording of the episode itself, involves a lot of drinking), share a customer review, talk a bit about why our job is much less glamorous than our fun t-shirts might suggest, and describe interactive plays. Astute listeners will note that at one point I mix up the ring wraiths of the Lord of the Rings franchise with the dementors of the Harry Potter franchise. I know I made an "unforgivable" mistake, but please do not write in about this. You can listen below, or go here for links to Google Play, Stitcher, and iTunes if those platforms are more to your liking.
One last thing before I sign off for the week: don't forget to pick up your copy of the Boredwalk Magazine! It's hilarious, fun to look at, and makes a great gift for people who aren't into t-shirts, but still like to laugh. It's also very limited edition, so once it's gone we won't be printing any new copies! At the very least you should check out the product page — I think I nailed the description, and you'll also get to watch the commercial we shot for it.
Finally, be sure to save either your "I Voted" sticker OR your ballot stub! We'll be announcing a special deal for those of you that vote (or have already done so), but it does require showing proof that you voted this year!
Peace, love, and voter engagement,
Matt
Pink Panthers, Regional Celebs, and Boredwalk's Secret Origin!
I know, I know...it's a little early to already be thinking about Thanksgiving with Halloween still a week away, but what else can we do when we're already being confronted with cinnamon pinecones in every grocery store we step inside?
As you can see from the above, we're still plugging away at new designs here at Boredwalk HQ, but we're also preparing for the holiday rush with new equipment, new team members, and new enhancements to the website!
We still made time to record a fresh new podcast episode for your entertainment, though! This week Meredith and I dish about classic Pink Panther cartoons, low-budget commercials and the regional "celebrities" who make them, our shared tendency to personify our companion animals, and share a little about the brand before the brand, as well as our plans for both moving forward. It's a pretty full episode, but guess what? We successfully kept it (just) under 30 minutes this week! Huzzah!
We'll be back next week with a new episode, new designs, and other fun stuff, but until then have a great weekend!
Peace, love, and tacos,
Matt
P.S. About those wacky regional celebrities, check out the clips below to see what Meredith and I are referring to in the podcast ep!
Have you heard the terrible news?
I smell an Emmy. Or at the very least a Kids Choice award. I mean...if that doesn't immediately make you want 10 copies of your very own, what will?
Since these are quarterly volumes, they're limited edition. Once we sell out of volume one, it's gone for good, so be sure to snap up your copy posthaste!
We also have a new podcast episode to caress your earholes:
In it we share a customer review, reveal how we send customer complaints in our own household, read an excerpt from the magazine, and go over some recent additions to the Boredwalk product line, among other stuff. See below for a taste!
That's it until next time! Hope you have a great weekend, and as always,
Peace, love, and tacos,
Boredwalk

How to cope with trips to the dentist and sham judicial investigations, Boredwalk-style!
Well gang, it's officially "autumn" here in southern California. That means trading in shorts for jeans, making sure you always have a hoodie handy, and enjoying highs in the mid-70s for a few weeks before the mercury dips to a chilly low-60s for what passes for winter around here. Real talk: the window signage at The Gap near us actually refers to it as "layering season". It'll be rough, but we'll get through it!
We have a new podcast ep up! This week it's just me and Meredith having a short chat about how she deals with going to the dentist, our mutual disgust with this Kavanaugh situation in DC, how upset I am with the lack of a new Stranger Things season this October, but also how excited we are about a new Netflix original debuting on October 12th! We also share a customer review, rant about art theft, and share a conspiracy theory about drain openers. You know us: always tackling the big issues!
And if you're relatively new to the Boredwalk universe, maybe you'd like to peruse some classic blog content from Octobers past?
• Need a comfy, stylish Halloween outfit for taking the kids trick or treating? We've got you covered.
• Need to make sure that haunted cabin you're thinking of renting for a weekend getaway is up to snuff? Read our horror-fying TripAdvisor inspired reviews before you book it!
• Hosting a Halloween bash later this month? We've got a spooky playlist guaranteed to keep your ghoulish guests grooving. Beats so fresh, they probably won't even notice how stale that candy corn you're serving them is.
Stay safe out there this weekend!
Peace, love, and pumpkin ales,
Matt
