How to best celebrate World Goth Day? 🦇
Happy National Vanilla Pudding Day! I am not one for pudding generally, but I do appreciate vanilla as a flavor. Some might say it's boring, but those people are stupid — ignore them. Vanilla is delicate and nuanced...like yours truly.
You know who's not delicate? Boredwalk's fearless leader (and my better ⅔) Meredith.
Karma's a relaxing thought 😇
SUCCESS CAN BE FRIEND *AND* FOE
This is normally the part of the email where I dazzle you with a new product release or tell you it's National Endangered Species Day and offer up some clever quips about tigers. I was gonna do all that but this week has me pretty mentally tapped out, so instead I'll just share a little of why.
🦸♀️ The heroes we need
IT'S INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMER SUPPORT DAY
Shout out to Christina and Isabella from the Boredwalk customer service team, who tackle phone calls, text messages, and emails from fans and haters alike!
I don't need an occasion to appreciate them because I appreciate their calm professional demeanor every day. They do their best to make the Boredwalk shopping experience great and manage to keep a cool head even when people are being terrible — truly a superpower.

That is true; it's one of the delights of working at Boredwalk HQ.

🍪 We deserve a treat!
I welcome any occasion to celebrate chocolate because life is difficult and treats are one of the few reliable highlights in life.
👽 Do you remember the 1990s? 📼
If you can remember a time when you listened to your CDs on a Discman, stayed up late to watch Liquid Television, and everyone around you was quoting Wayne's World, you NEED our new 1990s activity book!
🌞 Time to shine!
Small Business Day? That's us! Here are a few reasons to celebrate small businesses:
What's so rewarding about today? 🤨
I say resisting the urge to hurl myself into the Pacific is reason enough that I deserve a little treat, but today's occasion is actually kind of suspect.
🧙🏽♀️ You know what they say...
To paraphrase Sir Elton John, the witch is back! Or, more appropriately, the witches are back!
👻 If you've got it, haunt it!
Although it is my most frequently considered fantasy to graduate from this mortal coil and ascend to a terrifying ghostly form, at my core I am a skeptic. This won't stop me from celebrating National Paranormal Day. I don't have to be a believer to appreciate tales of ghosts, ghouls, and goblins, and neither do you!
🌼 Saved by the Beltane 🧙🏽♀️
Blessed Beltane to you! May 1st marks the halfway point between the vernal equinox and the summer solstice and is one of the eight Sabbats celebrated by those of a pagan persuasion.
🤔 When I design products, I'm always thinking...
Matt and I think of product design a lot like musical artists probably think of constructing pop albums: the goal is to create a lot of singles, or in our case, best sellers. Those are the tracks that make all the money and make a name for the artists. However, if A-side singles exist, this also means B-sides exist, and today's email is a nod to some of my most loved Boredwalk b-sides that weren't nearly as appreciated by the public as they were by yours truly.
Today I'm salty about... 🥨
NATIONAL PRETZEL DAY 😋
Did you know that pretzels are believed to be the world's oldest snack, with existence dating back to 610 CE in Southern France? True story! What I appreciate most about pretzels is that they're the perfect conduit for mustard.
Today is also "No Make Up Day," an occasion I celebrate regularly, mostly because I cannot be bothered to put on make up very often. What's the point? Get out of bed earlier and miss out on precious moments of doom scrolling? I think not! Plus I'd only have to take it off later, yet another chore that would only get in the way of doing other things that are bad for me that I seem to prefer.
Lastly, today is World Intellectual Property Day, a topic I am passionate about since all of us here at Boredwalk depend on intellectual property to pay our bills. The US loses hundreds of billions of dollars a year to intellectual property theft, a problem our incompetent government seems determined to do absolutely nothing about.
I can only imagine the eye-watering amount of money I personally lose each year to people stealing art from our website, but hey, it's Wednesday and this email is supposed to help us get over the hump, not under a pile of pretzel crumb covered blankets and crushing despair. That's for tomorrow! Let's ignore problems for today and feast on carbs and set our eyeliner on fire — beauty is a social construct!

Don't worry, George, we're gonna wash 'em down with some historical facts and amusing links!
